Living in the United States without legal status can mean facing obstacles at every turn, and no one knows that better than the attorneys at Eagan Immigration. We are here to help you overcome these difficulties and obtain work permits, travel permits, permanent residency, and even citizenship in the United States. Best of all, we’ll make it easy and accessible for you. No matter where you live in the United States, Eagan’s innovative and completely remote approach to the immigration process means our attorneys can work with you from the comfort of your own home. No traveling and no intimidating law offices – just conversations in your own language with people who deeply care about you.

How does Eagan help me fix my immigration papers in the United States? Where do we start?

At Eagan Immigration, it all begins with a simple call with a member of our team who speaks your language to answer some questions about yourself. Taking the first step can be challenging, but we’ve broken down the process into simple tasks that make an overwhelming task much more manageable.

Step 1: Call our receptionist team to share basic information about yourself – your name, date of birth, marital status, your spouse’s legal status, if you have children, and if you’ve had any work-related issues. Simple things, no need to prepare – we promise.

Step 2: Our immigration team reviews your information, analyzes your possible options to fix your immigration papers in the United States, and conducts additional research as needed. We do it right away so that when we speak next, we have ready answers.

Step 3: It’s time for a consultation! In this call, our immigration team will explain our lawyers’ analysis and the steps we think are necessary to fix your immigration papers in the United States. We’ll answer any questions you have until you feel comfortable with the plan – including the price. We usually charge a flat fee based on the type of case, so you can rest assured knowing your costs upfront. Payment plans are also available.

Step 4: It’s time to talk. We’ll arrange a convenient time for a phone interview with you to collect all the information we need for your forms and to write a first-hand account of your story. By asking many questions about your experience, our staff will be able to tell your story in your own words in a document we refer to as your “declaration.”

Step 5: Let’s gather some documents. You will be provided with a list of various documents we will need to submit with your immigration petition. We strive to make this as easy as possible, so we invite you to submit these documents on paper, by email, or even take photos with your mobile and send them to us by text to the office.

Step 6: While you’re at home, we’ll be busy preparing your petition to submit it to the United States government. This petition will consist of the forms we have filled out on your behalf, your declaration, your documents, and a carefully crafted legal argument. We have eight attorneys in the firm who work together and share ideas until we are confident that we have the best possible argument for why you should be granted legal status.

Step 7: We submit your petition and wait. We know the suspense is tough, but we’ll notify you as soon as we hear anything about your petition. Nervous? Call us and talk to us.

Step 8: Approval! The best days are when we can send you the documents that will make a real difference in your life, whether it’s your work permit (EAD card), your travel permit (so you can safely visit your family in your home country), or your final approval for permanent residency (Green Card) or citizenship in the United States. At Eagan, we celebrate victories like every week.

But how can Eagan do all this without meeting in person? And why?

It’s no secret that the COVID-19 epidemic has changed many workplaces in our country, including immigration law firms like ours. Our system has allowed us to serve clients from all over the United States, which can be especially important for individuals living in places with limited options for legal assistance. When you choose Eagan, you are choosing a firm based on what we can offer, not just where we are located. From a personal perspective, having a completely remote company also means that we can recruit the best staff from all over the world. Each team member is an individual who is passionate about helping people like you fix your immigration papers in the United States.

But what if I WANT to meet my immigration attorney in person? And am I supposed to attend an immigration interview alone?

If you want to meet us in person, then you know what? We have something in common. While the completely remote format works well for people living far from our base of operations in Virginia, we are happy to meet in person with anyone who prefers that option. As for immigration interviews, you have many options. In many cases, we can participate in your interview with immigration officers via video call or phone. In others, we can send one of our attorneys to attend your interview in person. In fact, if you happen to live in Hawaii like one of our former clients, the founder of the company, Lauren Eagan, may insist on it. Either way, with Eagan Immigration, you will always have someone by your side and advocating for you during these important meetings.

But what if I have been told that I am not eligible for legal status?

If you’re reading this, it probably won’t come as a surprise that immigration law is extremely complex. Many of our clients have been told by other attorneys that obtaining legal status in the United States is impossible, but the highly experienced attorneys at Eagan Immigration are accustomed to finding options that others don’t see. Eagan has taken the initiative in new approaches to apply for various types of immigration relief, including self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), T Visas for people who have been victims of human trafficking and exploitation, U Visas for victims of crimes, and more. Most importantly, we do it with integrity. At Eagan, we believe that our best chance of fixing your immigration papers in the United States is total transparency and honesty. No matter your circumstances, we can help you figure out your best options for a bright future in the United States.
