We receive this question from time to time, and we’re happy to clarify.
Attorney Lauren Eagan was previously licensed in both California and Washington, D.C. Her California license is currently listed as inactive, which simply means she is not practicing state law in California.
Attorney Eagan remains actively licensed and in good standing in Washington, D.C. (Bar No. 1030899) and is fully authorized to practice U.S. immigration law in all 50 states.
Because immigration law is federal law, attorneys only need to be licensed in one U.S. jurisdiction to represent clients nationwide and before federal immigration agencies. This allows our firm to serve clients in all 50 states.
For transparency, you can verify Attorney Eagan’s active license directly through the Washington, D.C. Bar here: D.C. Bar – MemberDirectory
If you have any questions, our team is always happy to provide additional information.
